This one starts out with a couple of quick questions just for you.
What’s getting out of bed like for you in the morning?
Do you lay there waiting until you feel like getting out of bed and THEN get out of bed?
Or, do you get out of bed and THEN you feel like it?
If you are like the majority of people, first you get out bed and THEN you feel like it.
The ACTION comes before the feeling. We must remember that ACTION COMES FIRST when discovering how to beat bad feelings.
During my high school days whenever I had to write a paper or begin a big assignment I would always wait until I FELT like starting it. That was a HUGE MISTAKE.
That was such a huge mistake because I would NEVER FEEL LIKE STARTING IT. I would wait to feel a wave of inspiration before writing the paper, but that feeling never showed up.
Then, after a while (and a lot of poor grades), I figured something out. I learned I have to start doing the task, and then I’ll FEEL like it. The key is creating the FEELING through ACTION.
I also noticed that most days I wouldn’t feel like jogging, or lifting weights, or writing, or practicing whatever until I STARTED jogging, lifting weights, writing, or practicing whatever.
That’s the twist. We must put our bodies in motion and the emotions will follow. That’s what learning how to beat bad feelings is all about.
This one twist is the cure for ridding ourselves of the bad feelings which prevent us from getting where we want to be in life.
We must not listen to our FEELINGS every single time one pops up. There are just too many of them to successfully process.
We need to maintain focus on what we know we must do, and then do it. It doesn’t matter how we feel about it in any given moment. We just need to start doing it.
Even if we can’t do it well yet, we have to put ourselves in motion and start acting like we can do it well. Just fake it until we make it.
It doesn’t matter as long as we put ourselves in motion so our emotions kick into gear to beat away the bad feelings.
It’s critically important to remember that when our bodies are in motion our emotions will soon follow, and it’s up to us to make the motion happen. That’s the straight truth of it.
Once we start jogging — we’ll FEEL like jogging.
Once we start lifting weights — we’ll FEEL like lifting weights.
Once we start writing — we’ll feel like writing.
And once we start practicing whatever — we’ll feel like practicing whatever.
This isn’t a joke. This really works. This works for anyone and it will work for anything.
We must START doing it and then we will FEEL like doing it.
We really can act ourselves into a different way of feeling.
Feeling bored? Act interested.
Feeling tired? Act energized.
Feeling unmotivated? Act motivated.
Feeling shy? Act outgoing.
The bottom line is that the main problem is our feelings, and the solution is our actions.
We just need to force ourselves to behave differently than we feel when things feel bad.
Is this an easy thing to do?
No it isn’t.
Is it very possible to do?
Of course it is.
Does is get easier the more times we do it?
Yes it does.
Now is the time to begin creating our own success through our actions no matter how we feel.
We just need to start doing it immediately, because none of us have much time left as it is. So let’s get started now.
That’s ultimately how to beat bad feelings while further tapping into our inborn power.
This will bring us closer to living as the most complete version of ourselves immediately.
