How To Get Pumped Up For A Game Now

Read the following out loud three times and then work the action steps below:

TODAY, I PLAY AS IF IT IS MY LAST!

Today, I play as if I will never feel the grass, the court or the dirt beneath my feet as a competitor ever again.

Today, I play as if I will never again guide the ball, the stick or the mitt with my skillful hands.

Today, I play as if the pounding of my heart that only my sport can bring will never be mine to savor again.

Today, I will move as effortlessly as an eagle, I will pounce with the fury of a lion, and I will strike with the precision of a lightning bolt that is commanded by the gods of sport themselves.

Today, I am graced with the strength of a bear, the will of a stallion, and the grace of a cloud that glides so beautifully, yet is unrelenting, uncompromising, and unstoppable.

Today, as the hour of my battle nears, I am prepared. I have paid with blood a debt to my sport, and now it is time to extract the honor, the splendor, and the glory from my game.

Today, my opposition will be made to understand that I am both the irresistible force and the immovable object rolled into one, unbeatable unit.

Today, I have the strength of my convictions along with the desire to persist longer and further than my opponent. My feet, my hands, and my entire body know not of hesitation, but direct, focused, and razor sharp action.

Today, I play in tribute for those who have come before me, in respect for those who will follow in my steps, and for those who cannot suit up at all…

TODAY, I PLAY AS IF IT IS MY LAST!

List three of them right now:

1)
2)
3)

3)

These three examples are your Strength Generators. Take them onto the playing field with you. Write a subtle reminder of these three examples on yourself as you enter the playing field.

You can write it on your sock, your hand, your arm, or anywhere else that’s visible. It doesn’t matter where you write it.

All that matters is that you carry it with you so all four of you can go out on the field of play. That means you and your three Strength Generators will take the field together.

When you do that you will have an advantage right from the start. You’ll be winning before the game even begins. The odds will already be in your favor. Take them.

Also, if you’re not an athlete don’t think game day doesn’t have something to teach you. It does. List three different sporting events that you will attend this year.

Then, after each event write a lesson you learned that you will take into other areas of your life.

How to get pumped up for a game is for everyone; because everybody is playing a game somewhere in their life.
